One of them looked at us and then said something to his friend. They both walked to the counter, placed their orders and sat by the table beside ours.
Minutes later we got up to leave and was about to pay for the extra bottle of coke we ordered, when one of the guy got up and said, "hi, done already" I nodded slowly and was about walking away while my friend was searching for 200 Naira to pay for the drink.
The guy said "don't worry, I will pay".
My friend smiled thank you and started to walk away. I heard this guy say "excuse me, please can I call or check up on you later? Maybe at your office?
My girl in amazement asked him how he knew her office and got her number.
His eyes simple rolled to the NNPC branded water bottle she was holding and slowly said NNPC.
My girl in confusion said "oh this".
They exchanged numbers and we walked away.
The rest is story, this guy took her out that weekend, and the next, showered her with sweet words and recharge cards, levelling and watering his ground. He always talks about how he heard NNPC takes care of their staff, citing examples with a list of unseen friends who tells him about the benefits
My girl has been gisting me more about her escapade. I simple. told her to be careful, the day this branded NNPC water bottle that she took from her cousins house will put her in trouble, I no dey oo.
I guess it serves them right. These Abuja fake guys needs to taught a lesson.
