Today Marks the 50th Anniversary of Sound Of Music

See how time flies, the beginning of classic love stories in the history of film making, marks 50 years today.
The Sound Of Music first premiered in New York in March 2 1965 and went ahead to win five Academy Award the following year including best pictures.

Maria (Julie Andrews), born 1st October 1935, was the act that made the highest grossing movie of all times.
Starred in My Boy Friend (1954), Cinderalla story (1957), Camelot, (1960).


She made her film debut as lead role in Walt Disney's Mary Poppins (1964), which earned her Academy Awards Best Actress. She continued to work herself to limelight and starred in the hit movie The Sound of Music in 1965. 


Other movie roles where in Americanization of Emily (1964), Torn Curtain (1966), and Thoroughly Modern Millie, (1967), which was at a time, the best movie ever produced by the Universal.

Other movies that bombed the box office which she starred in where Star! (1968) and Darling Lili, (1970).
Julie also starred in 10 (1979), S.O.B (1981) and Victor Victoria (1982).

In 2001 she starred in the Princess Dairies, and in 2004, Princess Diaries 2:Royal Engagement.

Lately, she appeared in Tooth Fairy (2010) and a number of voice roles, Shrek 2 (2004), Shrek the Third (2007), Enchanted (2007), Shrek Forever After (2010) and Despicable Me (2010)
